following orders

My parents started to "kick" me out of the house when I was 10 y/o. apparently that did not stop until I graduated from college. their reasons was were petty for me, to think that i am a legitimate child.my question is, when I follow their order of me stepping out of the house, with all my things, mean that I am fighting back or I am just following my parent's order for me to leave their house. This question of mine have lingered in my mind for decades now.
