Guns, Schools, teachers, what else? Who's fault is it?

http://www.sgvtribune.com/ci_11019436?source=rss_viewed Ok a gun in school. Glad nobody got hurt. But I really like to know why a gun is necessary in school. Many times I hear that teachers are also victims, yes the students harass and many times threaten the teachers. I honestly believe that happens. Because I have a friend that is teacher, and his tires were slashed and another time spray painted too. He was also beat up. The school did not do anything since no one was seriously injured. My friend tried to talk to the parents, they parents did not care at all. And made it sound like their child behavior is normal. I feel horrible for many teachers that fear for their life when doing their job.

I think most of the problems lie with the parents. They think their kids do no wrong and let them get away with murder (figuratively speaking). They are let run wild and have no responsibilities to speak of. The teacher arrested sounds like a good person, but why did he have the weapon locked up at school? It was unloaded, even if he had to use it, heaven forbid! There are some teachers, though few and far between that I know of, that harass certain students. My oldest grandson was a victim, although he just let it slide. This person had no use for "jocks" as he called them, and he took it out on my grandson. Every time he turned around, this teacher was sending him to the office for something. It got to where the principal would laugh about it when he saw him coming and wanted to know what the teacher had done this time. My grandson was a very easy going boy, friends with everyone, even the teachers and principal, but this one teacher didn't like him for some reason. The principal finally had a talk with the teacher, and his harassment stopped.

Hi Barb, How is it going? It is good to know that the principal is on your grandson side and understand it is the teacher and not the student. I agree with you, lots of time the parents chuckle when they hear that their kids got in trouble with the law. They think it is always somebody else's fault if their kids shot someone. Some parents just don't teach responsiblity. I hope I don't become one of them. Thanks for posting. If I don't mylot to you this week, I wish you a happy thanksgiving weekend.

I always understood that, if I got in trouble, it would be twice as worse when I got home! I don't think any kid is past getting into some kind of trouble. Most of the grandkids have had to spend time in detention, either after school or before for some minor infraction, but nothing bad. That's simply because of the Zero tolerance. But they've never done anything to speak of that would be bad. But there are definitely some that get in trouble all the time and the parents think it's fine. In fact, they want to blame it on someone else; their kid 'wouldn't do anything like that' - even when everyone else knows better! Happy Thanksgiving to you. I'm trying to clean today and wash, but I got dizzy headed, like it inner ear trouble. And I had to quit. Still have the washer and dryer going. Told my daughter I'd do the best I could and then tomorrow I need to go to the grocery store and pick up my meat and things I'm cooking. In fact, I might go tonight after my husband gets in from work and we eat.
