This is what I quickly fixed for tea tonight. 4 packets value super noodles.... 7 p per packet, Handful of peas Handfuls of sweetcorn 2 tins of tuna Cook peas and sweet corn, while cooking fork tuna and put in flat dish, put pan of boiling water on stove, add the noodles, cok for what ever it says. Tip peas and sweetcorn onto tuna mix, add noodles and have a BIG mix up, dish onto plates. Children had tomato sauce with theres hubby and I had brown sauce. We also had brown bread and butter. Plates were empty. Eat your heart out Jamie Oliver.. I can cook for a lot less than an fiver!!

Thank you my friend, did you ever try my idea? Or did it put any ideas in your head to make some very good cheap dishes

Wow Anne, I thought I was frugal but this recipe beats me. Well done! I have a book at home which list meals for under 99p and I quite often make recipes from there but I must admit many are pasta ones. Keeps the students happy. My daughter practically lives on tuna, pasta and sweetcorn bless so I will suggest she buys these packet noodles and gives this a go as I am sure she will love this. Huggles. Ellie :D

Yes it was an excellent cheap quick meal, dished it up in bowls and we ate it in front of the telly with some bread and butter

I do like to cook, wish I could spend all day in the kitchen sometimes as it would be lovley to just cook and create new things all day. I do also just throw things together when I'm in a hurry

Good for you, I bet this would be good with canned chicken or turkey also. It beats mac and cheese. And you got them to all eat vegies also.

Hi ya Anne18 Less than a fiver more like less than a quid!! We had sandwiches for dinner hahaha! The boys had, had a hot dinner at school and we had to go out quickly this evening so sandwiches seemed to be the answer!

Sandwiches are very good for you, you can get loads of good salad in a sandwich along side some meat/fish or cheese and it can be very healthy for you as well.

Sounds yummy. Wish I could come up with cheap meals that are easy to make. I wasn't blessed with the cooking gene.

I don't think there is a cooking gene, if there was I think I would be so much better. I think now since I first wrote this there is so much more on the telly etc about cooking on a very tight budget and left over cooking is a very big thing now.
