I have travelled to my destination by train. I would usually use trains for days trips but have used them to travel for short breaks a couple of times. If I go away for a longer break, I'll usually hire a car.
An advantage of travelling by train is not having to drive I do like driving, but there are things I like about not driving. Depending where I am going, I can enjoy the scenery from the train. Some journeys are quicker by train. It can also be a cheaper option, but that very much depends on where you're going and when. One of the advantages I find of train travel is that there is usually a toilet on board!
I suppose a disadvantage of train travel is that it limits where you can go and the times you can travel. Sometimes, trains can work out more expensive depending where you go, when you go, and how many are travelling together. When there are problems with trains, such as delays or strikes, that can spoil the journey. And some trains can be very crowded. I have been on trains where people could barely move because they were so packed.
When everything goes smoothly and trains are not crowded, I do enjoy travelling by train.
