OMG! I Think I'm Pregnant With An Alien

Oh my, oh my, what should I ever do? It must be an alien! It has to be. What else could it be? I say this since strange abnormal sounds are coming from my stomach. I often catch my refection in the mirror and my eyes glow green and my hair sometimes looks purple. I have a yen for eating copper penny sandwiches with Tabasco sauce all the time and drinking blend of cockroaches, fly wings and beetles with monkey dung. What can I do? Whom should I see? Is there a doctor in the house? Help!
Got you're attention? No I haven't gone dingy..Okay this is actually a bit of a rant. I was just looking at a response from one of my discussions and it was obvious that the person responding didn't really read my whole discussion and maybe was only replying to my topic discussion title. Please, please tell me why people do this? This isn't the first time either and I think each one of us have been hit by some yahoo who responds to our discussions without really reading what we're saying..does it take THAT long to read something?
Okay..enough of a rant...gotta go to have my copper penny sandwich and my bug blend juice

Hi there Pyewacket!
Well, you did get my attention. I guess there are some people who are posting just for the sake of earning money. There are more people here though that really participates in the discussions because of genuine interest and I hope that you won't be turned off by those who doesn't fully read your discussions at all. You can give negative ratings for them if you like. I think that not fully reading the discussion before replying is a valid ground for giving a negative rating.

I don't which is worst though people who respond only basing their response by the title of the discussion or just a one or two word response. No it doesn't happen often but is a bit annoying, don't you think? And yes, no doubt they are just responding to earn money

oh no, don't give them negative ratings... but do reply back to them and tell them nicely that they have to read the message, so they would not do it again...
it could be that they were really in a hurry and want to respond to a very interesting topic, which happens that the body of the topic is different from the title. This could be a learning situation for them.

To be honest, I'm not in the habit of giving negative ratings to anyone unless they are being downright abusive to me and some I'll even report if they really get out of hand, and unfortunately I've run into a few "winners"

Oh no pye! What are we going to tell pye and kissy? How are
we going to explain it them about their new alien baby
whatever? I'm going to be an alien auntie! Oh no! I'll have
to start shopping for alien baby clothes! Oh so much to do!
Oh why didn't you tell me sooner! Yeah, I really get so
freaken annoyed when people don't read the whole discussion
or do read it but just don't get it because they haven't
really taken the time to really READ IT! And I just want to
say to them WTF! I see that you had one of those in your
discussion anyway! I just have no patience or tolerance for
stupid! Notice I didn't say for IDIOTS! That's a whole
different story! But, unfortunately I don't think it will ever
change! There will always be those that will just read the
the title and think they know the answer and make a damn fool
out of themselves! Well, I'd better start shopping for my
little alien neice or nephew now! What colors should I be
looking for? Something that will look nice with their green
complexion?

Shhhh!
pye and kissy are alien offsprings actually.
They do not know this.
And it would be devastating if they were to know.
This must be kept a secret.
If you keep talking like this opal I'll have to use the brain transferating machine on you and pye the human.
(transferatin) HAHAHAHA!

OMG...I think GRANDPA BOB is on to something....now how did he know my two kitties were actually alien offspring.
Let me see what would look good with a green complexion..well since it's Christmas time I suppose red? I think the baby is due any minute now, so better get shopping for those clothes...oh, and maybe we could borrow GRANDPA BOB's Santa hat.
No I guess things won't change people will continue to just read the title of a discussion and not the rest, which means we'll continue to get dumb answers.

You've got me there! Yah, I am guilty of answering or replying the topics without reading the whole paragraph yet. Because the title itself already elicit ideas and I could afford to loose it so I type it down right away. But when I could not really understand the topics right away - just like this - I find time to read it on before posting comments.

Lots of times the titles of people's discussions intrigue me so makes me want to read further, especially if the title of the discussion is rather vague or downright weird...uh, like the title of my discussion....heehee

OMG. That's where I left my seed. It was in a little paper envelope disguised as a copper penny sandwich. Darn it Pye. Don't panic now, just keep an eye on your tummy though. Now I'll just have to wait until some green scaly thing emerges from some less than obvious place, then rushes around the apartment block terrorising the neighbours before King Kong comes along and stands on it.
What?........ You mean that this wasn't your discussion. Another bit you say..... But I didn't want to lose my thread because I was too lazy to read the rest of the discussion. Don't you just hate it when people do that? I try not to, in fact if I can't be bothered to read the whole question, I don't bother answering at all. I'm sure I miss some humdingers that way. But there we are!

OMG--then you're at fault for my alien baby huh p1kef1sh--I should have known. Wonder what the baby will look like? Think it will emerge out of my stomach like in the movie Alien? Or gosh, maybe it will come out of my ear?
I often give my classic "Huh?" or "Duh?" response to people who quite obviously haven't read my discussion..LOL

I sure was wondering where you were going with this, and I wouldn't have guessed here!
It totally drives me batty when someone does that. I mean, I try to get a good witty topic to my discussion so that it will catch people's eyes. Sometimes I'll be a bit fecetious (sp) about it (yeah, me, really, I do that) and you have to really read the discussion to get what the topic is trying to say. There are people that just read the topic or the very first line then they add their (worthless) 2 cents. Depending on if I'm pms-ing (or have an alien baby) I sometimes politely tell them that's not what I was looking for, but if it's the wrong day, I rudely tell them to read the topic and post something worthwhile.
Very frustrating.
btw - I hope the alien looks like you and not the "father"!

I know! I just had one yesterday. I just told them I had no clue what they were talking about. I almost rated them negative because they put a link in to an article they had written. I didn't go to the article, and I didn't rate them at all...

I've seen people do that to....if someone writes a response that makes no sense but then also adds a link to an article they wrote, that could be considered spamming..Sometime ago a person was doing that all over the place, leaving weird remarks but was sure to add a link to an article he wrote..I guess to get page views??? Which means trying to earn money out of the deal..since that's against the guidelines I would report him then...check out the person's other responses on other discussions and I just bet this is what that person is doing

Some replies from people really stump me no end and really haven't a clue what the heck they are trying to say so I wind up replying back with my classic...Huh? or Duh? Other times I'll be diplomatic in my reply and tell them to please re-read my discussion as I don't think they understood my meaning..

Hi pye,
When I first read your topic, my reaction was 'Huh!' You really got me going here. I now have this distasteful image of attempting to eat a copper penny sandwich, etched in my mind. I can almost detect the coppery taste in my mouth. Yuck!
I don't know for sure why this happens here, but it can be quite the regular occurrence. Possibly people are in too big a hurry, trying to make as many posts as they can, to boost their earnings. I find your discussions to be very well thought out, and intelligent. You come up with some very thought provoking issues, likely because you're a writer, and you're used to looking for interesting, diverse subjects. If a respondent can't be bothered to read the whole discussion starter, then they should just move on to something less deep.
Take care.

No problem. Do you think any other coin denominations, would be more palatable?
I see you're burning the 'past midnight oil' again too. Will we ever learn?
I've accomplished my goal before retiring for the 'night,' which was to start one new discussion. I didn't have time to do any myLotting on Friday really. I think I shall 'finally' head off to bed.
Take care.

Well - this time, either I'm missing something or I just didn't look in the right place. I have friends that start with some insane title, but reading the entire discussion through is how to figure out what it's about. Then we're really supposed to read the responses before adding one of our own, even if they have not corrected that when discussions are responded to when responding from email.
It seems to be laziness, in that people cannot be bothered with reading before responding. I guess I'll go get what I just nuked in the microwave & enjoy some rubbery pizza with penincillin topping while you enjoy your copper penny sandwich.

seriously though if I get responses that are half hearted sometimes i don't let it bother me but if it's off topic or just rude I don't rate it a "+" seldomly do I give "-'s" but I have a few times

You never heard the expression that a person is a yahoo? Here's the official definition then
Main Entry:
1 ya·hoo capitalized : a member of a race of brutes in Swift's Gulliver's Travels who have the form and all the vices of humans
2 [influenced by 2yahoo] : a boorish, crass, or stupid person

Hello!
Yes, you got my attention, my friend. And I do believe that this discussion was to get someone in flagrant. I mean, you are expecting somebody to come here and answer about you being pregnant by an alien, instead of saying anything about the users who does not read the entire discussion. Ha, you may get someone, but that someone certainly is not me!
I don't like either when people come and only respond to the title. It seems like they are starving for the payout. I mean, since we are here, let's all enjoy our time. Let's put some thoughts. Let's respond to discussions properly, not only by reading the title. Let's all do it correctly, right?
Respectfully,
Munhozmib.

i thought you were serious! LOL. i have an alien fascination (along with crop circles, UFOs and the like) i even made an alien friend card and keep it in my wallet so that they won't take me for abductions (LOL- this is serious! my friends think i'm a freak for having this) haha. i just think it's fun reading up on these topics.
about the responses, i also get unusual replies to my discussions but i really don't think this is because they are just replying for the sake of doing some. most of the time i think (i'm not sure, okay) there is a communication problem. like say the way he or she interpreted the question? but then again maybe there are a few who are robots and just type anything to get higher ratings :)
btw, hope you don't mind but I added you as a friend because of your fun discussions and cute avatar. (I'm a cat freak) :)

I'm into aliens too...LOL. Maybe not as much as you..wouldn't you just love to meet an E.T.??
Yes, I can understand if there is a communication problem, but lots of times I'll check a person's profile to see where they are from, so it puzzles me, if they come from an English speaking country to begin with and don't answer the discussion the way they should have if they had read the whole discussion right

As a person who is guilty as charged, I'll explain, I'm not giving an excuses, just an explanation. I generally answer over 2 dozen of these discussion per day, many of them on the same subjects so I have taken to answering one statement or questions that means something to me or that I have not answered many times before.
On the positive side of this your title did entice me enough to read your whole discussion. I'm new at this and will hopefully grow into the spot where I can pick and choose discussions that I can give intelligent answers too.

I have to admit I sometimes have to re-read discussions a few times ....after a long day and night of writing reviews and articles I have to admit I get a bit brain fog...so by the time I get here to respond to either replies of my own discussions or of friends to make a reply to I have to read it several times..just to make sure I'm "getting it"
