Have the times changed?

Did anyone hear about the law college brawl in Chennai? Well I will tell you.The madras law college is a famous college in Chennai. The college has the habit of conducting elections to select the leaders of the student community. This year, as a change, the student that got selected was of a different caste compared to the leaders of the previous years. This sparked off lots of clashes on a minor scale. Unfortunately, one such clash went out of hand and four students were brutally beaten up and that too right in front of the police. The police just stood there watching and waiting for higher orders to be passed. Till this day, I was of the opinion that the student community was the most united one which did not have any divisions based on caste or creed. But have times changed? Has the student community too become adulterated and corrupt?
