Every time when I enter my house, the dog tries to jump at me. What is the reason guys? I believe it is trying to play with me. But what exactly is going on in the dog mind when it jumps at me?

My dog used to be awful about jumping on people when they come in the door. I,too, realize its because he has missed us and is excited to see us or that he is excited to see "company" come in.....but at the same time, I dont like for him to jump on anyone.
I, too, like another poster will bend over or squat down to his level and love on him to let him know that I am glad to see him as well.
As for the company, I just think that is rude...some people dont appreciate it.
I have trained my dog not to jump, but to sit eagerly next to the company...if they wish to pet them then they will.
I used a few pennies in an empty soda can. When my dog would start to jump, Id shake it. He would stop immediately. For some reason dogs dont like that sound. It is ver effective.

i guess our dogs just gets super excited when they see us coming, like they missed us so much that they haven't seen us in years...my dog is the same as yours, sometimes i get angry with him because he gives me scratches that are very painful and sometimes i get scarred from it..

Yes id say it is just excited to see you,
our dog jumps at times but he is slowly learning he isnt allowed he would jump at everyone who came through the door otherwise and thats not always safe is it so I find it better to teach that jumping is not ok so he gets ignored until he sits then he gets the attention he would like nice and calmly, I have two small children aswell so its doubly important for him to learn that he has to show his happiness at seeing us in more gentler ways
