You know what? studying hard to get better grades is harder than applying what you learn when you are working. If you really had learn when you are in college, not that you have good grades only because you've memorize everything but nothing was retained? Oh!! that is harder when you will be working. But if you know what you are studying? you will be very excited to apply it. You know what I mean? There are students who have good grades because of memorizing but don't understand what they are memorizing about. hahaha... I mean, they know nothing what they are memorizing. Yea, they have high grades, but they don't understand it, and how can you apply things in which you don't understand?

As for me, if you are saying primary and secondary school, those studies that we learnt are basically more on the basic and perhaps may be helpful and useful. But when in terms of what we study in Uni or college, I believe not all is useful. But universities nowadays tend to give extra subject, as in to prepare student to broaden their knowledge. Because in the world of IT like now, taking Business Admin doesn't mean you just need management and business skill. You may need some IT skills example like setting up webapges (the basic application) and some of the Information System as it maybe useful for you somewhat in the future.
But if you are studying just to pass your exam or get good grades, you won't find the knowledge in it. The purpose of study is to explore knowledge and not get good grades. That's the problem in Uni people.
Also, even those things may not be good use, we are not stupid when in terms of apply in life, like purchasing a computer. At least we know what a processor is and be a smart consumer. Also, if you become a profesional marketer or any profesional jobs, you are able explain to people with the knowledge you have.

I think adaptation would be the key. I mean knowing what things that you have learned to actually apply on the job or task at hand. There might be times when you know a lot of things on the job assigned to you and you just might do everything needed to get the job done, but what if there are other people assigned on the same job as you? It wouldnt be appropriate to just accept all of the responsibilities just because you know everything right? So I guess knowing what learnings to apply is the best way to go.
As for me, I dont have a job yet but on schoolwork and other things, sure I try my best to make the best efforts.^_^
