There are two guys in my class i am very close with. I respect them equally & very affectionate toward both of them.Of late I have observed that they are having increased bitterness in their friendship. I guess its because of my friendship as each of them keeps me asking "who is my best friend?" frequently. I believe its a sort of jealousy & competition running in between them to get closer to me as a friend. I am having a tough time to share my time in between them. I caan't choose to loose the friendship of either one. Again i don;t want the show to run too long as it may end up in a sour relationship in between the two. What to do??? please help......

Jealousy, unhealthy competition, intolerance and distrust can not find place in the sphere of friendship. Your friends seem to have developed such qualities that may tend to create inimical relationship between them eventually. I feel, one should try to keep oneself a miles away from these characters as far as possible. The end result is bound to be bitter and unhealthy if proper care is not taken by you to freely and openly express your true feeling and option,in a friendly manner. Dishonesty and infidelity are two worse things in any kind of relationship. Thanks.

It is a real tough situation you are in now.Well try this...Get both of them together with you and talk to them and share your views. You tell them that the bitterness between their friendship is making you feel uncomfortable. As a result your friendship with either of them is getting strained. It is not that anyone of them is more important than the other, you must tell this to both of them.It is not a competition or game that they have to win,the very meaning of friendship is care, love for each other and affection.By starting a cold war between themselves will get you for them.As you say they are your best friends, they will surely understand you and the matter will resolve with a happy ending.Hope this helped you.
