I read this article on the New York Times the other day. It is an interesting approach that the Saudi's are taking to addressing the greater core issues of the problem. Given the nature of the conservative Wahabi government in Saudi Arabia, this seems to be a bit of a change from the past.
Part of what is so suprising about this is that the rentier-state economy in Saudi Arabia affords them a decent standard of living...so the issue (as they see it) is an ill-informed understanding of the Koran and social issues.
It seems this might be a viable solution for the detainees of Guantanamo Bay...at least addressing their ideological misperceptions.
