Thanksgiving is nearly upon us. Are you a thankful person? What are you the most thankful for? This is a good time of year to count our many blessings and give thanks for the One who gives them. Personally I want to publicly thank God for loving me, a person that can be unlovable at times. I also want to thank Him for my family, my health, a roof over my head and food on my table. How about you what are you thankful for.

I'm finding it difficult to be thankful this year. It hasn't been such a good year for me. Yes, I'm glad I have a roof over my head, but this roof also brings many problems with it. And yes, we have food to eat, but not like it used to be - we're eating a lot out of the freezer and pantry because there isn't much money for shopping. My income is almost stagnant. My health is fair. My daughter is fifteen so I'm suffering through her teen years. I have become so suspicious and cynical and have let go of a lot of people who have proven not to be the friends I thought they were. It seems like now that I'm down, no one seems to care. It's every man for himself. I know you have to be a friend to have a friend, but a person can only take so much disappointment and letdowns. I'm hoping that 2009 will be better - I don't know how and don't want to know how it can be any worse. It's hard to be optimistic when every day seems to bring me a new set of problems. I try my best to find something to smile about each day, but it's not always that easy!
BUT I'm happy for you and others who are doing well - it almost gives me hope that one day my ship will come in. However, it'll be my luck, I'll be at the airport! LOL
