it would be good just to have one phone, expense wise, and i think that will be the way in the future, I know one friend of mine got her home phone disconnected and only uses her mobile phone but she has found not many people ring her as there is still a lot of people who don't like calling mobile phones as in most cases it is not a fixed price so it is the more you talk the more you pay, but I think that will change in the future.

Check out "Boost" - unlimited calling and text messaging! No more surprise monthly bills either because it is pre-paid! I love pre-paid - I have it too! Keeps ya from blabbing too long - if only companies would realize that many people use cell phones and they need to stop putting us on hold for so long!)

I used to have both - now I have only a cell phone. My reasoning was that I have a teenager! She monopolized the house phone! I never got to use it! So I got rid of it! Now I have my own cell phone and she has hers. I saw no reason to be paying for all 3! My phone is about $50 a month, hers is (Boost-unlimited, thank goodness!) about $60. The house phone used to be $30 until she went behind my back and added a bunch of crap to it and drove the bill to about $50 or 60 as well! Needless to say, we can both be reached now! And we have a couple extra bucks in the budget!

Oh, my! I know what you mean! Her old cell phone - I think it was through Sprint - was that way! That's why I switched her to Boost - she can't do that anymore! I have yet to figure out what the deal is with dadgum teenagers and phones?! LOL

Hi! I would love to have both, but then my sister and I (who live together in one apartment here in the States) figured that it is not practical to have a landline or a house phone since we both have our cell phones and we're out for the most part of the day. With the soaring prices and the bills we have to pay, especially now that it's winter time, having a house phone is not advisable. Our cable and internet server is Comcast and they are offering a landline that is cheap. We still didn't avail of the plan because it's just unnecessary expense.
How about you? Happy myLotting!
