You would have heard of the Dhoni, selectors and RP Singh episode that is making news from yesterday. Is Dhoni going beyond his limit? When there is a selection committee to select the team why should Dhoni make an issue of the team selection? That too to the level of threatening the selection committee of resigning from captaincy. This is blackmailing, isn't it?
What is more disheartening is the whole issue going this far for a player who has no chance of making in the playing in the 11. Also he didn't play well when given a chance in the 1st two ODI.
What do you have to say about this?

Hi frnds,
I think dhoni is a good man. Some one are blackmail him to resign the captaincy.
He never croos his limits.Dhoni is a right way and right direction thinker.
He is a good player and good batsman.Always dhoni gives the good suggestions to selection committee.

Well, i think both management and dhoni had done wrong. there is no need of pulling out rp from the side because it will alter the winning combination. also cricket is a mind game, so captain cannot lead his side to victory if he didnt got the side he is looking for. he might have tactics to play against england. so may be rp is enough for him.
The area where i think dhoni made a mistake is , as he is the captian he have to set example to other players. he should be a role model to team. so he should not threaten the committe that he will resign if they dont take rp. by doing that he is adding an extra amount of pressure to the replacement player who came in place of rp.
this is bad thing as far as i concern.

Yes,he is trying to go beyond the limit.I think for a player it is not good and this type of behavior spoils a player. He is not everything in Indian team.As a captain he should be more responsible and cool.

I do not think so. I think a captain is well within his limits to back a player and request the selectors to select him ahead of other players. Remember the captain is a formal member of the selection committee. I think it is the media which has gone beyond its limits in bringing forth such issues. Imagine in Australia when the selectors asked Steve Waugh to step down, did the media really name out a selector who opposed his continuing in the team!!
I think the media has clearly crossed the line and I really liked the way Dhoni handled the media after this episode.
Cheers!

I personally feel a captain has the right to ask about the playig eleven..dhoni has the right to ask for the players that he needs..because if the team doesnt do well then it is the captain who will be questioned and not the selectors or the team management..and Mr.sivanj i think you have not noticed dhoni's first match in which he scored his highest score..

What he is doing is absolutely correct from my point of view. How can selector have all the right to choose a team and that also in the middle of a series. I don’t know why they select a team for 3 matches and then again a team for the rest. They just want to show that they are doing so much and they want to prove their authority.
But one thing is very clear; the captain is the one who will be interacting with the players the most and that also on the field. So it is very easy to say that he will understand the best who is suitable and who is not. His point is justified. When we have all rounder and also with RP in good form why do you want to replace him with a player who is making a comeback after so many days. No matter how good a player is, after a long rest everyone is bound to have problems.
I think it is best that the selectors give a team to the captain for the whole series. Like for the 7 matches and then the coach and the captain are to decide who will play and who will not.

One thing is definite in cricket-when a captain gets the team he wants he will do well as a team and this has been proved by the great Imran Khan. The amount of respect he generated during his times with his team mates and also selectors where nothing to say against him and he got the team he wanted and he also performed and Dhoni is also having tremendous respect among his team mates and though there is no harm in him trying to get his team when selectors go wrong, i still believe he made some mistakes in selection matters or matters concerning seniors ....even in test matches, which is unwanted as all seniors like ganguli and laxman especially have nothing to prove their capacity against someone like dhoni as dhoni will not be able to reach any of their achievements in his life time for sure

yes he is trying to go beyond limit. it is what I think also.he is crossing all the limits it seem. now captaincies in both are making him go off it. its very sad things are turing out. lets hope India wins in this controversies also.

see, things like these are always going on in the dressing room.it is the first time that the cat is out of the bag. otherwise, cricket is famous for controversies. it goes on and on. i think the whole thing has been made to appear exaggerated, nothing else..

I don't think Dhoni is blackmailing the selectors......
According to me Dhoni as a captain has the full right to choose a team of his choice....
and if we talk about R.P Singh he had returned to the Indian team after a long time and no one can judge a persons caliber with just 2 bad performances......
R.P Singh should have been given more chances......
so according to me what Dhoni did was right....and he didn't blackmailed but fought for his rights....

I dont think so, he is smart captain. He knows what is well suited for the team. Sometimes captain has to show his thinking to the selectors. This is disgusting that the selection meeting talks leaked out.

yes he is going to go beyond is limits and the twenty twenty matches have just made him fly in the air like a bird that keeps on going high and high and willnever come but he should understand that whatever goes so much high also falls down with a great velocity might he just not gets somewhat like ajay jadeja who is not even no more in history of cricket but only in sometalshows and other things
