Last evening my son was on a shopping spree for shirts. We went to an discount sales exhibition. We checked out the prices. Since he could not try out the shirts over there we went into another shop. There the prices were actually low. Now I'm wondering whether exhibitions actually drop prices, or is it just an advertising board?

i guess it depends on the store. i know (from having family that worked there) that VERY OFTEN when JC Penney has sales..they actually raise the "original" price THEN discount it..so it ends up back at their everyday no sale prices!! which really pissed me off when i learned that! not to mention that they mark up things by huge amounts..were talking they pay $5 for a shirt that they sell for $45! they make money hand over fist even when they are having a so called "sale". you have to figure that the stores are not in business to lose money...even if they really do drop their everyday prices for a sale..they have always figured in their profit, ALWAYS.
