Has anyone ever tried Adobe After Effects?

I've once heard you can edit videos like they did in movies using adobe after effects but when i go to adobe official site, I was surprise that it cost US$999. That was to much for me. Has anyone tried to used its full program before and not the trail one and if so is it a pirated one.

It is deffinately not a pirated one *wink*
Its amazing, to see its full capability there are plenty of videos on Youtube or other video sharing websites.
