I had an XBOX 360 and it broke (it would not read discs). After I exchanged it under warranty I sold it and brought a PS3. I would really like another XBOX360 because I wan tto play Gears Of War and Dead rising, but I am put off by the reliability issues. Have they improved or do they still break a lot.

I have a 360 and I'm really happy with it. I got the RROD last year but I replaced it with a new 360. I've never had a problem with my 360 and reading disks. They've improved the 360 so that it doesn't overheat as much as the older versions. To prevent overheating, I keep my 360 well ventilated.

Honestly that is one of the reasons I did not get an xbox 360! I've heard many people talk about how easily they overheat. My cousin got an Xbox 360 elite for christmas last year and when it gets too hot and you shut it down it won't even come back on until it cools down. I wanted a PS3 but I couldn't afford it so I bought me a Wii. The Wii never overheats and you can leave it on 24/7! The Wii is a quality prouduct unlike the Xbox 360! The Xbox 360 was made powerful but it was also made cheaply so it overheats. With the Wii though you get a quality made product but it isn't as powerful.

I have had mine for almost a year and have not had any problems with it. Most of my friends that got their 360's when they first came out. I think it was just the first models that had problems. So if you got a brand new xbox i'm sure you are in the clear.
