There is number of printer available in the market such as hp, canon, other company..my advice is you too prefered hp because i had canon pixma photo printer and i faced many difficulty in refilling them and the most worst thing is canon cartige is smaller in size which occupies less ink so thet number of pages you print is less because of short size of ink cartiges
on the another side there are number of printers of hp are available of every required needs and cartiges size is larger than canon printers..and its is the cheapest printer available in the present market..starting from 1700/rs onwards..i think you should prefered hp rather than another company...

Thanks for your response, this is exactly why I thought I would ask this question, there is nothing better than good honest feedback, instead of some salesman just trying to get a sale.
I think I will go and have a look at the hp range.

Well, I have found that often times the printer may itself be cheap, but the ink is what will cost a lot of money everytime you need a refill. Decide before hand exactly what type of features that you will use and then narrow your choice to similar models from several brands. Do some research online and check reviews. The reviews on Amazon.com are very helpful.
I recommend Brother printers myself. Their ink is high quality and less expensive than other brands. The refills tend to last long and, if you really want to save money on ink, many no-name or non-OEM ink companies produce ink cartridges for Brother model printers.
Check out the Brother MFC-240C, Brother MFC-290C, Brother MFC-465CN, Brother MFC5460CN for different styles and functions as well as a varying price range. Good luck with your purchase

Thanks for your response, it is why I decided to ask fellow mylotters what they think as there is nothing worse than going into a shop and trying to find out good information including the prices of the refills, when you have a salesman just trying to close a deal quickly.

Yes, this is one of the reasons why I like being a member on myLot as well. There are some very knowledgeable and thoughtful members on myLot who can offer some great advice. Experience and word of mouth is often the best type of recommendation. I don't trust anything that sales people say anyway. their focus is usually on commissions, and many salesmen will say whatever it takes in order to convince you to buy. I tend to avoid shopping at stores with salesmen to begin with and I always do research ahead of time so that I know what brand and model I want/need before I enter a store.

Well there are a variety of printers out there. You just need to look for what suits you best. If you could put up ur requirements, i can help you with it. But still i would suggest go for any printer of Hp, as they are easy to use and get serviced. They are pretty durable also.
