I Now Look Like a Professional Do You Want To Know Why?

Ok, I have wanted to get my kitchen/office set up looking
more professional for some time now. Well, today it happened!
I got my new computer desk setup! Instead of sitting at the
kitchen table I now have a computer desk with everything in
it's proper place! And it feels so good! Did you ever want
to get something done and finally accomplish it and feel like
you had "arrived"? I look so professional sitting at my new
workstation! At least that's what my bf/roomate keeps saying!

Hey Opal! I can just close my eyes and imagine a very professional-looking you sitting at your workstation getting lots of work done. Congrats on finally getting your workstation. It sounds like a great accomplishment. I can think of one or 2 times in my life when I felt I'd really accomplished something, and it was fantastic! You go, girl! The sky is the limit!

Why thank you Pearl! It's just that I spent months researching
and looking in every store and online for the perfect computer
desk that would hold everything and it wasn't easy to find.
So when I finally found one online and made the decision
to order it I was so happy! It's been in the apartment for
about a month now and bf decided to put it together today!

A month! Lazy bf...
Why didn't you put it together yourself? Or get Pye to help you...

That is really nice. I went without real furniture for so long that although my present computer desk is not real fancy or very expensive, it is just such a step up from piling stuff up on boxes at work...the only problem is that it is so nice and comfortable I don't want to get up and walk away from the computer to do other work!
Congratulations on your new setup!

Hi drannhh! This wasn't an expensive desk at all! I researched
the internet and the stores until I found the best deal for
what I wanted! When I saw some of the prices I cringed!
I only paid $119 for this workstation and it is really nice!
It has 3 tiers and shelves for the little speakers! It has
room for the tower and printer on the bottom tier and the
middle shelf holds my 17" monitor. So it has everything that
I needed!

Oh dear I am so happy for you! There is really nothing better than sitting on a real computer desk when using the computer! So finally you got one and your bf could not lie. You must be looking like a real professional one while sitting at your new works station. Cheers!
We've recently finished having our new dining room painted in orange, yellow and white combination. Oh my dear it looked even so brighter and happier in our new kitchen. It matches our new and bigger oval dining set. We used to have a round four-sitter dining set because we are only 3 in the family but when my grandchildren or guests would come to eat with us we had no space for them. Now we bought an 8-sitter oval Narra set that matched the bright hues of our new kitchen. Having guests seat with us while dining will no longer be a problem. We felt we had the best kitchen ever!

Hey salonga! That sounds really nice! I like thos colors!
I am using oranges, golds and browns in my living room! I
am in the process of re-decorating the apartment. I still have
a ways to go, but this was a big start for the re-do in the
kitchen/office!

Hey Opal.
Long time no see.
Yea Ive been wanting something for a long time. Sometimes you just have to go for it.
If it was only a computer desk for me. That would be so simple. And make life so
easy.
Its good to get back on here to talk to all my friend. Sorry I've been gone for
so long.

COOL!!!!
It really does feel better to be all set up instead of at a "temporary" workstation...

hey congrats on getting that done for yourself. i think we have all been in that place before. wanting someting and when it happens we just feel so great. like when i redid my apartment a few months ago. i wanted a change so much. i was tired of looking at the same old colored walls. and once we together as family finally got it done, my place just feels warm and inviting. so i am very happy that we pulled together and got it finished

I'm sure you look wonderful and feel great too. It's fine when you have everything set up so as to be practical and with everything in reach and where it should be. I use my laptop on the dining room table and I'm set up so I can see into the loungeroom where the tv is....lol. Recently I bought one of those old tea trollies (I've always wanted one) and I have my printer and other associated computer stuff set up on it right next to me. It leaves the table relatively clear and I can move the laptop if I need the table without having to clear everything else off. I have a proper computer desk in the office but I'm away from everything in there and miss the tv.
I'm happy for you as I know how you feel.

Was your computer desk one of those assemble yourself deals. Mine was..and mine is a real behemoth of a desk..LOL and yep had to assemble it myself. I actually got my desk before I got the computer and sometimes when friends would pop by they looked at it and ask why the heck did you get such a big computer desk? But I knew exactly what I wanted...I needed room not only for the computer, but printer and film/flatbed scanner..but yup made me feel real professional as well...like it screams.."WORK IS DONE HERE." LOL
Got a picture of it here

LOL--you sound like me..don't ask how long I did on-line searches for "JUST" the right desk.....there are some furniture stores near me that sold computer desks but they were way too small for my needs

Hey pye! Yup! It sure was an assemble yourself deal! It is a
3 tier corner workstation. It fits everything and it was at
a really good price. I'm really happy with it. The chair isn't
padded enough though, but it's comfortable. I might need to
aid another cushion. After searching in stores and online for
months I found exactly what I needed! I even have an extra
top shelf for my other printer or nic nacs!

Congratulations, Opal!! Why not post a pic of your new office? I bet it looks grand. :) I guess I must do something to achieve the "professional" look. If my clients really see what I look like, they might not hire me. LOL!! I guess I must get "dressed" for work daily and quit working in my usual home clothes. ;)
Cheers and happy mylotting

I have always wanted to do that to my kitchen. I am not great at organizing and getting stuff started though. I take one look at the task at hand and get a really big feeling of overwhelm. I am beginning to start on the kitchen first. I feel like if I can get it organized, then eventually I can start decorating it. That will make me feel like I have "arrived" for sure.

Hi cortney! I'm not good at organizing either! It is my bf
who has gotten me started and I am really thankful! I am
in the process of re-doing my apartment but it is taking me
forever! You have to start somewhere and I'm hoping that this
will give me the push that I need!

Yep. I am notorious for procastination so I end up having a pile of things to do on my hand then finally, out of the blues, I get this urge to clean up my schedule and move things along. When this happens, everything simply fall into fall. Well, not everything actually, but I get most of the work done to my satisfaction. Whatever that means! LOL

And I bought a small table in the mall downtown that I wanted to buy the whole week to replace and old space saver my sister gave me years ago.
My sister's thing was burnt ( from an old experience cooking ) and made it easy to collect a lot of dust on the floor.
In any case it was also very old.
This new bamboo-topped table looks so neat and new and almost cannot collect anything at the bottom.
I'm really happy with my purchase.
