I don't think so.The only thing that would change is that abortions would remain legal. On average, men are less patient than women so there would always be a select few men who would make great parents and the others would avoid pregnancy.

Besides love, patience is the one thing you need to be a parent.

Interesting.
For one thing, abortion would still be illegal and there would be a constitutional amendment protecting women from parent fraud (as in women would insure that they would not be held liable for another woman's child as is so frequently the case with men today).
Child support would not be paid if in fact it was even allowed at all. (fact: women are far less likely to pay child support when ordered than men). Accounting for child support would be forced in each and every case. DNA typing would be mandatory at birth.
Perhaps during divorce men could even get a fair shake in the courts.
Women would be kicked out of their family and forced to pay for the "privledge". Men would keep the house and most of the money "for the children" and many other changes.
Regarding crime whosoever becomes powerful either physically or economically will commit crimes.

Well, life is all about balance. If there is a yin, there will be a yang.
If there is light, there will be darkness as well.
If only men were to get pregnant and give birth, what is to say that women in the same plane will not become the agressive one?
Don't paint men with one broad brush stroke leh. There are more good men than there are bad ones.
And even now, when women are the ones giving birth, there are still some pretty violent ones around. The recent bout of cases involving female employers abusing their maids are just so common now a days. And some of the cruelty acts, even I as a man cannot accept!

Well, in this day and age, men are also trying to shoulder their share of the burden as well. From feeding the baby to changing the diapers to bathing the baby after it is borned.
During the pregnancy itself, they also have to deal with some pregnant mothers who have temper swings due to hormonal imbalances.
The care for the wife during the pregnant phase is also equally important. Why does the women of today not treasure the care and comfort accorded to them by their hardworking husbands who goes out to work and make the money to provide that?
In a relationship, there is no such thing as a he done more than me, I done more than him mentality. You go out together as a couple. You married together as a couple. You made love together as a couple. And of course, when it comes to caring for the kid, you do it together as well.
Like I said before, whenever there is a yin, there will be a yang.
I am not sharing this as a man, but as a person who want to bring your attention that both partners in the equation are equally important. So, don't belittle the efforts of the man just because he is not the one bearing the child in his body. There are so many other things that he does that try to make up for it. No?

hi there,
controlling weight is big problem,If it can be done then YES! Ithink everyone should have to experieence child birth. Its not easy! I think sometimes men take for granted that all we do is open up and they fall out. NOT!! I think if we could allow men to see the other side of things. Maybe they would appreciate the gift of child birth.. well if they cant be atleast they shd get pain of child birth

that's good that men will experience pregnancy so that they will know the labor pain, the pain experiencing by the women during labor.. though it's not that easy but at least they will not think that being pregnant is fine..but pregnancy is for women..

Good Morning Youless, I do like your line of thought... not only would there be less crime, there would be extensive changes in society as well. Being that men are usually big babies at heart ( no offense to the testosterone infused who read this comment ) the birthrate would drop because the birth proccess is way too painful for them to endure. The role of women being the main income of household would increase ten fold, and I do believe peace would reign and all would be right in the world!! LOL Hey a girl can still dream right? ...Mamablaze!!

Personally I would love to see guys have kids all the time. I don't want to ever become pregnant. I am very happy with the way my body works down there and could not ever imagine going through 9 months with a living creature inside of me. If a guy would get pregnant for me instead of waiting me to have a child I think that would be the greatest gift a guy could give me. I am lucky now to have found a guy who already has kids so I don't need to worry about having any of my own. So therefore it kind of feels like to me that he had to go through the pregnancy and not me. :)

hi youless,
I think it is good idea for everyone specially the woman for man will share the pain and the hassle of being pregnant. I know some of the man will react in this discussion for being pregnant is a womans job. If the man gets pregnant then what is the difference between man and woman if they are alike? I couldnt imagine if the man and woman make love and they both get pregnant wow thats double population. what do you think?

It would never work. If men had to be the one to carry the babies the human race would die out. I haven't seen a man yet that could even suffer through a common cold without making a federal case of it. How in the world would he deal with morning sickness and mood swings.

Men having babies don't make me laugh. There are some pretty evil woman in the prisons you know, they have been put in prison for a reason. My husband cannot manage to look after himself let alone a baby,he likes to wonder up the garden and forget what hes doing.Maybe some of the new age men might like it.My husband bruised his hand putting a new bulb in the neadlamp of the car and moaned about it how he would lay there to hours pushing and having contrations in all that pain,he could not cope with that.He was pretty good with our son as a baby ,changing nappies, feeds.ect but not on a full time basis,if he had him for me to have a rest he went down his mums.It would not suit in this house.x

I was in hysterics reading this, if men were to have the babies there would be a population problem! The population of the world would diminish FAST! Men wouldn't have that many babies because us men don't like pain, so less babies obviously means that there would be far less people in the world which would actually solve the food crisis, yes it would make a peaceful world, I was just thinking of Adulf Hitler pregnant, wow! And did you know the male seahorse has the babies and NOT the female. That I find totally fascinating! I wonder if the seahorse was an experiment to see if males could have the babies!

Hello youless. It is interesting of your discussion. I don't know what to say exactly, but I think that it might be a good idea for men to experience the process of being pregnant so that men know more about the hardships of a pregnant woman and for men to love more of their wives and mothers. Good night, youless.

I think not all men are ciminals, most criminals could be men but not all. I have also seen women who are also criminals which just means that not all criminals are men. I guess that hard think about life is that people tend to generalize the fact that some are only guilty of it. Would you burn the city with evil people even if there are some innoncent ones in the city? Some men might be guilty of it but it wont be right to punish all men because of some men who did wrong. :P

That is certainly an interesting way of looking at it. But pregnancy only lasts 9 months. Not to mention the hormone fluctuations. Pregnant men might become even more violent because their hormones would be raging. Plus they would all have to have C-Sections the cost of surgery would be higher. In order for your theory to be correct men would have to be pregnant all the time.
