What is the most effective way to invite a referral?

I'm lucky enough to part of this social networking site. I find the discussions very relevant and most of the responses are helpful, too. I want to share with my friends about myLot and tell them about this wonderful site. Have tried several methods through email and the referral link of this site, but so far, none has responded. I even talked to them over the phone. So, guys, what is your best approach on how to successfully invite your friends to join myLot? How will you describe the site to them and convince them eventually?

Well i am also a member of this site and i have only seven active referrals till now.Well if you want to invite a referral,then the most successful way is to publish your referral link on your blog.When someone visits your blog and signup under your referral link,then its a better option.My five out of seven referrals came from my blog and all of them are active on this site.
One more way is to email your referral link to your friends.This will definitely help you.I think publishing your link is the best one.You should try this,i am sure that this will work for you.If you have a more traffic on your blog,then the probability of getting more referrals increases to a great extent.If you don't have any blog,then you can create one from blogger site.
