Would you give up part of your lunch break?

Here where I work, people really maximize their one hour lunch break, after they have eaten they would just sit and relax in the pantry, chat with each other or take naps. I would usually eat my lunch then return to my desk to finish my work. I eat for like only 10 minutes then I go back to work. I don't know why I do it, maybe its because I want to get the work done as soon as I can. I don't like having pending work. How about you? Would you do the same? or would you relax and make the most of the break since it is your right after all?

That diligence is what makes you a valuable worker/employee. You seem like you actually enjoy your work unlike many of your colleagues, and that's an even better asset because you're the type who'd stick around long and would actually enjoy it!
We don't have a definite "lunch break" and it's good because we get to decide when we come back to work. This makes people work better and work more - I think it's the fact that we're given this much liberty that we want to make our employers feel good about that liberty they're giving us :)
Thanks for the response on my discussion :)

Thanks for your complimentBy what you say that you don't have a definite lunch break were you referring to the time like 12nn? or it is the number of minutes that you can take your break? Yes, it does feel a lot better if you work because you want to and not because you have to. Thank you for responding too.

If I could have my way, I would want to have all my work done before lunch. But most of the time, my boss would arrive around an hour or half an hour before lunch and that is when I get approvals and signatures from him. Then he would just stay for the entire lunch time only or at least until 2pm then disappear again for the rest of the day. So if I want to have a quiet meal, then I should make sure that everything that I need to discuss with my boss is already finished.

I can totally relate to what you feel! But I guess its still the sense of responsibility in me that keeps me doing it even if unnoticed by the higher management or employer.
