before this, if we want to watch some movies or listening songs, we must buy CD or DVD right? but now, we can get it directly from internet. In easy word, we can download it all from internet. so, if we can get it directly from internet for free, why we must waste our money to buy CD or DVD? so what do you think about this phenomena?

Yes they still are. Despite the new and improved USB stick memories that are bigger and easier to use the CD / DVD still have the advantage of being immune to virus attacks. Also in another matter of speaking i have the deepeast respect for the Walt Disney Company and although i have seen pirated movies as well, i enjoy buying originals from them in stores or online. At the moment i have 8 original dvd bought from my local stores, 1 from amazon (that arrived a few days ago) and another 3 on the way from amazon uk and us.

Your idea is good but not all people uses an internet and there are still many people around the globe who wants to listen to music and watch videos but they dont have any computer nor an internet. Where they should suppose to watch then if Cd's and DVD's arent there anymore. The people who have access to the internet have the advantage to do that anyway so its a good suggestion coz we dont need to buy anymore medium to watch and listen.

Hi judinbo, To me it still relevant for certain reasons. Some CDs or DVDs may become our special collection like 'piring hitam',you know. Besides, there are some of the movie come out with Special Edition which cannot be found at any places. Some features such as expansion version with 'no edit' version. So, to me it still relevant and that was some reason I can share with you

Yes and no. Compared to the internet, CDs and especially DVDs are still far superior quality. If you watch a movie online, even the ones that claim to be high quality will not be as good as a DVD. However, CDs and DVDs have definitely been replaced... just not by internet file storage space. USB drives have certainly replaced CDs for the most part. Students used to bring in their PowerPoint presentations on a CD, now we're not limited to the amount of space on a CD. If someone wanted to get my notes in the past I'd have to burn them a CD. It's arguable that DVDs have been replaced by high capacity memory cards. I have one of those laptops that doesn't have a CD/DVD drive in it, because it's newer and I guess the manufacturer considered it obsolete. When I want to watch a movie, I put the DVD onto a memory card. You can fit 2 movies on an 8GB card. And for home movie watching enjoyment, Blu-Ray is definitely superior to DVD.
