When you submit a discussion does it bother you if you realise once you have submitted it that you have made a spelling mistake? It used to bug me a little bit, but now I just think, there's nothing I can do so I let it go. Are you one of those people that it would really bother? could you care less?

I am usually very careful whenever i reply to a discussion that i do not commit any spelling mistakes or grammatical errors but inadvertantly they creep in not because i am bad at spelling, but you could put it down as typographical errors. After posting if i find that mistakes have been committed i just shrug my shoulders resignedly and go ahead. There`s no point in feeling bad cause nothing can be done about it,isn`t it.

I take a preview at my response before posting it. But typing errors are unavoidable. You can't really spend a lot of time spell-checking your response as you set yourself a deadline of responding to or posting in a certain number of discussions per day. So its better to just let go.

It bothers me. It's ESL for me. Therefore, my posts aren't always perfect in spelling and grammar. Sometimes I really wish there would be an edit button. Then I think about all those posts I really have a hard time reading and following along as there are so many mistakes in them that it doesn't make sense anymore, and I don't feel so embarrassed. There are a lot of posters here who don't have much experience communicating in English. I make an effort with them, but sometimes it just doesn't make sense. In the grand scheme of things my little typo, spelling mistake, and/or grammatical error doesn't look that bad anymore;)

Hi 3cardmonte,
Yes it do bothers me. Although at times I felt so guilty for not checking my spelling. It is tolerable at sometime but if it becomes a habit that is unforgivable. I wonder why some mylotters did not give a quick glance on their posts. Oftentimes they have the same spelling error. I guess there are a lot of sites to check what is the correct spelling of a word.
But anyway thank God that inspite of erroneous spelling still were able to understand the message.
Be blessed

I care a lot! Grammar and spelling are big pet peeves of mine in writing.
For example, I noticed immediately in your post that you misspelled "realize."
Also, one of my biggest pet peeves is when people say they "could care less" when they really mean that they "COULDN'T care less." I find that incredibly irritating.
