I just had to have my bank debit/credit card canceled. Somebody somewhere is taking my little money out of my account, I need my little money so I called the bank and they canceled my card. Now I will have to go to the bank and make a withdrawal because I am flat moneyless. My new card will not be here until after the holidays. I don't mind at least they can't get anymore of my little money. Have you ever had to have a card or an account canceled?

Hi Chevee, that is very bad, I wonder how they got your pin number anyway that is great that you canceled it so that it will not happen again! I haven't experienced this!

They didn't get the pin number my card can be used as debit and credit, with credit you do not need a pin. All you need is the number on the card. And the 3 digit number on the back of the card.

Yes, I have had to do that when I moved out of state. As the bank switched the account from a free savings to one they started charging for. So, we closed the account. I wish I could of kept it open. As I liked to put money in it. So I had money when I went back up north to visit. It was easier than carrying checks.

This happened to my nephew when he was overseas a few years ago. He did not lose his card or let it out of his possession but the bank think it might have been skimmed. Lucky he checked his credit card account as normally the statement went to his parents here in Australia. He noticed several strange transactions on it and immediately phoned his parents contacted the bank. They told the bank his card operated all his accounts but the bank still cancelled the card anyway so he could not get any of his Austalian money. Luckily he was on a working holiday so had money or he would have had lots of problems with no money. It took ages to sort it out too but with a couple of weeks his parents were able to get him a new debit card and post it over to him. Some people really are despicable and have no morals. Decent people do not steal from others but make sure that whoever has taken your money is also not running up debts in your name. Good luck and hope you can get your card soon, because having to go into a bank branch is not always convenient.

I have had to cancel my card when I lost it. (It was at home buried under something, but I did not know that at the time.) It would have been best that as soon as you knew something was wrong to cancel it yourself and request a new card as well as a new bank account. Also if you are transferring or doing online transactions that you make your password as hard to remember as possible and also to change your pin number. It seems that someone you knew or thought you knew found your pin number.

I already canceled several cards. Both debit and credit cards. Reasons are varied. But it is more of becoming a moneyless, too. No regrets at all. Because it taught me to be careful in spending and saving this time.

That is really bad it is a good job you noticed it before they cleared the account out. It is a pain having to wait for new cards and things to come but at least now no one can get access to it now.

Fortunately, I've never had this problem. But, it stinks that someone would help themselves to your money like that I don't have a bank card for them to take money away and my prepaid credit card doesn't have that much on it after my Seattle trip, so that wouldn't do anyone any good either. I'm glad you got the bank to cancel the card, maybe they can figure out who is trying to use it now, that would be nice

Hi Chevee, How did that happened? did you report it to the bank? I think its so disgusting what people do and its going to get worse with what is going on, please be careful whe you draw ypur money out with the new card, cover your card with your hands when tapping in your code, I wish you all the luck, please be careful. No I am very lucky so far that I haven't had to do that. Hugs. Tamara

I'm sorry, Chevee, to hear about this. Little money or not, it is still your money and knowing that someone out there is trying to take it out, well, one would feel violated and such. I am glad that you canceled it now so they can no longer steal money off you. Years back, my mom's purse was stolen into at work and she notified her bank right away although they didn't do anything about it until the next day. But the person charged for things in her card that day so my mom had to go back to the bank and let them know. The bank ended up paying my mom for the lost money.

It's really dangerous while someone could take your money ,especially the little money you have. if i have met such things, i would cancel my card without delay. leave an eye on others, sometimes it could add security to us. just take care and it won't happen again.
