The news is out now... Cesc Fabregas has been named captain by Arsene Wenger. Gallas though remains in the team. What is your opinion on this decision? I think Cesc Fabregas is the heart throb of Arsenal currently and is the best choice currently for captain. But for one so young, will it go well?
What are your views on this?
Cheers!

i think that gallas will leave the team for sure now with this changes. he cannot remain in the team as i think the rift between him and players are not mendable and also i think he will find it a bitter pill to swallow to have his captaincy taken away. he has already lose respect of his team mates and i do not think he wants to remain in the team any longer. it is a pity as he is a solid defender in my opinion

well...nuthin is going right for arsenal at the moment....I am not happy with the way Arsene Wenger is building up the team....You need to have solid experienced players to win trophies....have 3-4 senior players n den build the youngsters around dem.....u cant have all inexperienced players n aspire to win the league....This has to stop....William Gallas was right in his criticism of the team....Making the relatively inexperienced Cesc Fabregas is another step towards doom.....

I agree that experienced people are required at Arsenal. But, I do not agree with the way Gallas criticized individuals. He is the captain, he has to speak to players and coach and not the media to make his team a winning team... So in that way I feel it is good that Gallas has been sacked...
Cheers!

I think it is a good move from Arsene as I think there was a real danger of Fabregas maybe wanting away from Arsenal. Now he maybe convinced to stay because it looks like the team will be built around him. His age doesnt really come into it in my opinion- there have been many young captains in teams before with great success.
As for Gallas I reckon it is 99.99999999999% certain he will leave during January.
