In these times when money is hard to come by ,people are always telling me to budget .They claim budgeting helps you to maximise your money .They say it will prevent you form overspending in any area. Personally I dont like to budget and maybe that's why I have very little saving because I buy on impulse.I feel like budgeting is too restrictive and persons who know me know that I sometime hate structure. Do you have a budget and do you adhere to ?.Do you find there are benefits to adhering to a budget?Lets also bring gender into the picture ,are men less likely to budget than women. What is your experience ?

I do budget. But i am not adhere to that much. This is because I am not able to do so. But my expenses come down. Before budgets i was falling short of money at the end of the month. But now a days at least i will be surviving without asking credit from anyone.

I budget as much as I can. I hate having to, but if I ever really want something than this is the only way. If I don't budget I am always broke and struggling through the week.Budgeting works very well in my large family of 5.

Our budgeting is kind of an invisible budget. We do not spend more then we have, but seeing as we don't have that much money, we can't really budget. We are working on a budget for our wedding, but well at the same time we know it won't cost more then $1000 and if so it won't be more then just a little over. Budgeting does help when it comes to saving, and I know a lot of people do not really stick to it, but if they did it'd save a lot.

My husband is a truck driver. What we do is figure out his pay by how his work is going. We than figure out how much we need for different catagories. For instance, we take out a certain amount for groceries, gas, utilities, mortgage, clothes etc. We then seperate the money between all the different catagories. We give outselves an allowance to spend on what we want. We're using that to buy our Christmas gifts for each other. For the kids, we have a certain amount saved for Christmas gifts and we use that on them. Having a budget really works for us. He's gotten his runs cut back so he won't be making as much so we went through our budget and cut back where we could.

We don't budget so as to speak but we have limits for food, gas, elecric, phone ect .I would say we are sensible.Which leaves the rest for the mortgage, insurance etc but we do have one weekness and thats our son, he always gets what he needs but he only asks for essentials like ps2 games and wii games, sometimes we have to say no depends if the car needs taxing but his attitude is if you don't ask you don't get, normal kid I supposeWe do not have a hard and fast amount for anything but we are careful then if you want a holiday the money accumulates and you can go which is great.
