God DESTROYED Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities surrounding them as well. Please see: Genesis 19:24-25 and Jude 1:7.
These cities were destroyed because NOT EVEN 10 Innocent or Righteous persons were to be found there. Please see: Genesis 18:20-32.
So what about the children, infants and babies... those under the age of accountability? You would think they'd be considered innocent!
Weren't there any children and infants anywhere in these cities and the surrounding towns that were also destroyed?
What are your thoughts on this?

It depends on how these children and infants were raised. We who are fathers and mothers would never do anything disgusting or engage in perversions, but for some who are devoid of any morals, the idea of having s*x with your own children, even babes or toddlers is all right. We are not talking about children raised like we would raise our children with love, we are talking about men and women who think nothing of satisfying their carnal desires. And we have to imagine the worse depravity known to us and multiply it and imagine a culture where a family such as Lot was considered weird because he did not lie with his own daughters. Yet even he was affected because when the small family went into the mountains, the daughters thought it was not wrong to sleep with their own father and why not? It was common in Sodom. So why were even the infants destroyed? Because they were marred by their parent's depravity.
If the Sodomites and Gomorrahans touched the infants carnally as soon as they emerged from the womb (disgusting as it is to us) and if even the small children performed s*xually with their infant brothers and sisters, then the first remembrance of the infant is not nursing at his mother's br*st but perhaps at his father's, brother's, or a male's -- I will not go on. That makes even the thought of it sick.

Thanks for your great insight.
It reminds me of when God also completely destroyed those of the ancient world with THE FLOOD, way back in Noah's day. I'm certain that there were young children and infants then too... but since the people of that time were all considered evil and filled with viloence and no doubt, were raising their children in like manner, God destroyed them all, so as to rid the world of every bit of sin and its' root of evil. Genesis 6:5,12-13,17.
Thanks again...
Regards...

One has to suppose that these substantial cities contained many children, infants (and even adults who were mentally challenged who were 'innocents' in another sense of the word).
You have to remember that these stories were handed down by word of mouth by very simple people who had a limited conception of God. There are still people today who would seriously believe that if someone is struck by lightning, it was because they 'deserved' it and it was through the wrath of 'God'. There are many who will tell you that Hurricane Katrina was (or must have been) an 'act of God' ... the term is still used in many insurance policies!
It is almost certain that the destruction of those cities (if it happened at all) was due to a natural disaster of some kind and that the story of Lot's wife is an embellishment of the kind that one often sees in news reports to this day! Even so, this is not a 'news report'. It's a traditional tale that would have been told round countless camp fires until somebody chose to write it down and include it in the corpus of 'Jewish history'.
Whatever the real truth behind the story, it most certainly was NOT the action of a God who, as Christians, we are taught is a loving God and, moreover, unchanging. If you believe one, you cannot believe the other. It's as simple as that!

I completely understand your point of view and of course, it makes sense.
But perhaps there are reasons beyond human grasp, as to why God does certain things that don't always seem right to us. For example, when killing the first born in Egypt- some of these were definitely infants.
Or what about when the Lord ordered the destruction of Amalek... Every human, including women, child and INFANT; Ox, sheep, camel and donkey were to be destroyed! Please see: 1 Samuel 15:1-3.
I for one belief everything the bible says.
I'd hate to pick and choose and draw the line here and there. Either I'll believe EVERYTHING the bible says- or I'll completely toss it out the window...
I choose the latter.
Thanks for your insight.
