I love reading books and they way I usually find new books to read is by looking for authors that are similar to authors that I already know that I like. Some of my favorties authors at the moment are Suzanne Brockmann, Janet Evanovich, and Jennifer Crusie. What are some of your favorite authors and what types of books do they write?

I'm currently into PNR or paranormal romance novels. My favorite authors would include JR Ward, Christine Feehan, Kresley Cole, Karen Marie Moning, Nalini Singh, Jacqueline Frank, and many more. I also like Suzanne Brockmann. Just finished one of her Troubleshooter/Seal Team 16 books. It was the tenth one called INto the Storm. I'm looking forward to reading more of her books. You seem to be into suspense/thriller romance books. Maybe Linda Howard or Lisa Jackson would be more to your taste.

I know I should really start from the beginning. Funny, because I'm going backwards...but I love her books.

Neil Gaiman, Edgar Allan Poe, and a long list of others. But those are the two who will stop me in my tracks if a new book/edition come out. (Poe may have been into supernatural writing, but I don't think he's practicing it.) For me these two encapsulate the creativity and psychological explorations that I really groove on. As you can probably guess I like horror and fantasy/sci. fi. However, I try to read in a bunch of different genres. It is really cool to stretch your reading muscles and attempt to delve into some of the other stuff out there. Shakespeare is another favorite, but I think may people have that same affection.

I definitely agree in stretching your reading muscles. I have recently been trying to expand my horizons and have just checked out a few nonfiction books from the library. They definitely aren't as exciting as fiction books but they have their moments.

Non-fiction is an interesting beast. It can be dry as dust, or put you in a situation that really happened. Good for you stretching yourself. I hope you find something in them. I read non-fiction sometimes, normally to do research of some kind or just answer a question. But, for me it doesn't have the same zing a fiction book has.

Personally, I Love to read. And since I would also Love to be a published author someday myself, there are some authors I really Love to read that seem to inspire me and give me ideas on what type of Books I would Love to see myself publish as well someday. Some of my favorite Authors are Debbie Macomber, Danielle Steele, and Ann Rule. I have actually had the pleasure to meet Debbie Macomber in the past as well, and it was a wonderful experience.

My favourite authors are Stephen King and James Herbert. Herbert is normally hailed as the British Stephen King, so it's fair to say their books are rather similar in style! I usually look for books that claim to be similar to authors I already like, as it stands to reason that I'd like the new authors too.

My favorite author is Anne Rice. I think she has a wonderfully spooky imagination. She is very creative. I like the way she draws you into her stories. I can re read most of her books and not get tired of them.

I don't have a specific favorite. But I love Jodi Picoult's books. Lately I'm also into David Sedaris. Jodi Picoult writes stories that always have some type of moral dilemma. David Sedaris has a really weird sense of humor and reads all of his own books (I read everything on audio).

I have a number of favorite authors like Ed McBain, Lawrence Sanders, Sir Conan Arthur Doyle(Sherlock HOlmes), Anne Perry, Ruth Rendell, Martha Grimes. Their books are usually about crime or murder mysteries. I also enjoy horror stories; but usually go for those collection of short stories like Alfred Hitchcock's series.

I like Stephanie Mayer, JK Rowling, Anthony Horowitz, and Phillip Pullman. Those guys are all super awesome writers! =] I feel like such a teenager. I guess it's okay, because I am a teenager, but still.
