My fiance and I are exploring ways to make money and have fun as well as contribute to things we might need here at home. Now, I've thought about making candles but not really extensively and wanted to know different ways of making candles.
What items would one need?
How do you know it's the right item?
What about moldings, would cookie cutters work for molds?
I am looking forward to all opinions, so chat away crafters!
Have a great day!

I know this is a little late, but you can purchase a kit. By using the kit you can get a feel for it and decide if you like it. I enjoy making candles. I make soy candles so I use glass jars. I don't use moulds. So far I have been buy my glass ware from the $Tree. But I'm also in the beginning stages.

It's never to late for good advice! I appreciate that! Can you tell me how much these kits usually cost? I think that it would be very fun to make, and like you said get a feel for it. Are there any guidelines say for what kind of things you should or can put a candle in? I've always thought glass, but then again would thick plastic work?
Have a wonderful day!
Oh and I Appreciate the response!

You could put anything in them that would not catch fire. If it's a thick, thick plastic it might work. For example, you could put marbles, glass rocks, embeds made out of wax and rocks from your yard.
You can purchase kits from the craft store for about $30.00. I am with a company called Candle Wealth. That is where I have been ordering my supplies. You can see my websit with them on my profile. You can also look on Ebay for them too.
