what should we do to obercome piracy?

we all know that pirated cds are much cheaper than the original one with all most the same quality then why dont they just lower the rate a bit and aadd one more tool against piracy

Because the RIAA (recording industry of america association) is a tired business model that sells over priced products that are usually produced with considerably less talent than even a few years ago. Listen to the radio lately? Most modern pop is pure nonsense. These factors and many more are the reason why piracy is so rampant and personally I feel that it should continue to be rampant until there is a market equilibrium between the recording industry and the costumers.
Also, the RIAA pays most artists horribly and take most of the profits and royalties.

I think if the music industry truly wanted to overcome piracy they would make plans at 1 cent a song or something ridiculously low like that to curb the people from not wanting to pay ridiculous prices (99 cents per song... cough Itunes cough) and resulting to piracy.
