Let it Burn. Destructive and Dangerous Teens

Two nights ago a group of teens tried to set my complex on fire. They dumped gasoline all over two of my neighbors doors and also on a statue of a dog. Luckily someone with an extinguisher saw burning dog and was able to put the fire out before any damage was done. I can't imagine what inspired these kids to act so recklessly. Apparently they tried it again today because I woke up to the sound of a firetruck. Again not much damage was incurred, but I'm starting to get scarred. I have a 17 month old child and I don't know how fast a building burns when its lit on fire. The neighbor across the hall has three children, one of which is only two years old. Have you ever heard of children that are this instructive and careless when it comes to peoples properties and lives?

It seems like the news is filled with stories of teenagers going wild. I would be extremely worried if I were you as well. Have the police, or heck, even the apartment complex, decided to put a watch on the place? When it happens more than once I would be ready to hire someone to make sure it didn't happen again.

That is horrible! Someone better setup a video camera to catch them in the act. Then the authorities can confront the parents.
Something is definitely lacking in those kids heads if they are acting that recklessly. It is totally thoughtless and inconsiderate of life! I would hate to think that they actually thought of the true consequences that could happen!

Yes I feel the same way. I worry for their mental health and wonder how they could cope with the idea of actually ending the lives of children. Hopefully they are just trying to scare someone because if they are actually trying to hurt people this world has become a very scary place.

I've heard of it but never experienced it myself. I'll keep you in my prayers that they are caught and you are safe.

Teenagers seem to be going one of two ways. Smart, polite, and emotionally humble or destructive to the point of no return. I deeply empathize with your situation. If you haven't done so already I would suggest calling the authorities about the multiple arson attempts. Maybe they can get some personnel to monitor your area for any suspicious activity. I hope the best for your young child and your neighbors.
Teenagers can be pretty stupid.
