a work related function

yesterday I went to a work related function last night.before this,I thought those are usually so boring.I don't being forced to make small talk.Actually,it waa very useful i met some interesting people that might be able to help me when i want to start my own business.thou i had no business experience ,but after all the networking i did yesterday.i know it's not what you know but who you know!

Yup, work-related functions need not be boring, if you know how to entertain yourself. It depends on what you're looking for. I'm not very sociable, but through networking at these functions, I gather information about business opportunities, career opportunities (if you're looking for a new job), market trends, customer information and so forth.
