I don't agree at all. I met some of my closest friends on the internet. Maybe you're just not meeting the right ones.

it depends really.. each person is unique, so they have their own behavior, qualities, likes, dislikes, they could be cheaters as what you say, but i guess you would know when someone is trying to trick you, right?.. but so far i havent met someone on line like that.. i consider everyone as my friend. ^____^

I think it depends on the individual's experience. I have made many business contacts through internet and some of them have become good friends too. But of course, you do not trust anyone blindly. Thats applicable to any stranger, whether you meet them on or off internet

You can't judge everyone on the internet by the example of a few people. I find that most of the people I talk to are genuine and you can soon learn to tell the genuine ones from the liars. I always try to trust people unless they give me a reason not to.

I have found that as long as its not romance type discussions then people tend to be upfront and honest. I am not looking for love on the net so I normally don't get a bunch of liars. I have met people from all over the world on the net and made friends. A lot of them have moved to the area where I am and our friendship continued once we met.

I disagree, some may lie, but I've met real friends online.

I approach other people on the internet the same way I approach my own identity online. If I feel like something that someone wants to know is too personal or I don't really have an opinion I might make something up. Other people might lie online but if I don't really know them or have serious contact with them then I odn't think it matters that much.
