I easily get tired of eating Lumpiang Shanghai especially from Chow King. I prefer Lumpiang Ubod because i think it's a lot healthier because it's got no meat and fats. It's cheaper too! Plus they come in variety like fresh or fried.

I prefer and love lumpiang shanghai than lumpiang ubod or usually called as lumpiang sariwa. Both are quite delicious and special dish, I love eating more lumpiang shanghai, especially if it's crunchy and hot and dipping it in sweet and spicy sauce.

I like lumpiang ubod. It is hard to get the fresh coconut buds to make it lumpiang fresh. Because I was live before in the province I always saw the cococnut buds and we always prepare to make fresh lumpia with the sprinkle peanuts and sauce. how yummy really!! I love to eat lumpia.

Is lumpia shanghai the vegetable stuffed fried eggrolls with vinegar dip? If that's what it is i think it's good but i'm not crazy about it. I prefer the unwrapped ones with sliced ubod whatever ubod means...or sometimes they use sliced turnip. I love it with rich sweet-salty sauce. I think they call it lumpia hubad. ooooh...naked lumpia! sexy! lol

I "prefer" but don't know how to "prepare" lumpiang ubod. It sure is hard to find lumpiang ubod because you need to fell a coconut palm to get its core ("ubod"). Anyway, some people use turnip ("singkamas") in place of "ubod" in preparing "fresh lumpia" (or some people call it "lumpiang hubad"). Sometimes, the sauce makes a lot of difference.

for lumpiang shanghai, the best for me is my mom's own recipe hehe. i can cook the lumpiang shanghai, with the pure ground pork, or mixed with salmon or bangus as extender. but between shanghai and lumpiang ubod, i'll choose ubod. more healthier plus i like the sauce...with lots of peanuts and garlic!! aww!

I actually like both but I definitely love lumpiang ubod. It is one of my favorite food especially the one prepared by my mother or auntie. Mmmmmm... Yummy! Sometimes, I eat lumpiang ubod in my favorite restaurant especially when I miss it. My mother does not prepare lumpiang ubod very often now but we just order them in the nearby town where they prepare almost the same delicious lumpiang ubod that my mother does.

My fiancee loves lumpiang ubod then lumpiang Shanghai. But I love the way she cooks her lumpiang Shanghai she puts some pickles on it. She has her own way of sauce she likes it with mayonaise. Keep on smiling! Have a nice day to you and your Mom too.God bless!
