I used to have dreams very often that I was falling, and falling, and falling. But I never hit the bottom. It was a never ending fall in a spiral direction. very scary too. I haven't had those dreams in years but I'll never forget them. some people said that falling meant "going to hell," of course I don't believe that now. Others also said that if you hit the bottom then you would actually die. Well I never hit the bottom so I guess I'll never know huh? lol

Dreams are such a great discussion - there are so many types of dreams people have and so many myths as to what the true meaning of a dream really is. I would love to some day spend some time learning about dreams and what certain dreams really mean. Do events of your day or week actually affect what you dream about at night? If you lay in bed thinking about something specific and fall asleep thinking about this, will you dream about it? Why don't you always remember your dreams? There are so many questions and things to learn about dreaming! I don't ever remember actually seeing myself falling in a dream, but lots of times I will wake up suddenly and it pretty much feels like I'm falling out of bed, even though I'm laying completely still, no where near the edge or ready to fall off the bed. I've always wondered what makes this happen, and why I often repeat this and other dreams I have. I'm sure a lot of these questions in the back of my head will remain a myster to me...
Thanks for starting this great discussion and happy myLotting!

wow! I know exactly what you mean, when you say that you feel like you're falling out of bed but you are perfectly still. I have that too now, quite often, I don't have the falling dreams anymore but every now and then, When I'm about to go to sleep (in a very light sleep where I still know whats going on around me), I'll feel a sudden rush, like I'm about to fall or something, and then I'll jerk myself awake. Very Wierd! That just started within the past couple years or so.

I always heard that also. If you hit the bottom you would die.
When I was a little girl I would dream of having a car wreck
with my family. We drove of a cliff. I had this dream often.
We never crashed to the bottom. But it was scary. I'm still
scared to go on that road now, and it was a dream when I was a
child.

I can perhaps do a little better than most. You see, I haven't just had this dream. I can will it. If I lay on my back, fall asleep and keep thinking of tripping over a step in my house, I'll dream it and hit with a really hard impact. And shake myself awake. It's intense, and scary, and I used to do it a lot, but not recently.
