How else can I use a batter mix for saouvery dishes as I'm fed up with toad in the hole and yorkshire pud on its own.
I'm asking as it is so cheap and easy to make.

Hi ya Anne18
You could always make savoury pancakes like crepes. I stayed in a crepery in France for two weeks before and they have a savoury and sweet crepe menu and it is surprising how filling they are!! Anything you would put in an omlette you can put in a crepe! Cheese and ham crepe with chips - there you go!!

I really wish I could give some sensible responses to your food discussions Anne. They are really so interesting. And most of them just make my mouth water even if I have never seen these dishes in my life and don't even know how they taste. :)
Cheers and happy mylotting

a few years ago i visited amsterdam and discovered the savory pancake. I didn't realize that pancakes were a huge part of amsterdam meals. there were many pancake houses to choose from. i had a pancake with bacon and cheese, my companions had vegetable pancakes but i can't remember exactly!
i'm sure your yorkshire pudding recipe doesn't produce the same kind of batter, i think yorkshire puddings are supposed to rise while pancakes are flat.
maybe you could try different herb combinations like sage and onion or rosemary and thyme, throw in some tomatoes and chopped ham or chicken?
I would love to see your recipe for yorkshire pudding, I've never made it!
