Ever seen a pup playing with grown up cats?

Gypsy, my new pup, who is now around two months old, has developed a special relationship with the cats. She loves playing tug with their tails. Puttu, my male cat, doesn't know how to take it yet. He just frees his tail from her mouth and puts his claws out. After a few minutes, he runs away. Kitty, on the other hand, has a sweet way of dealing with it. She simply smacks Gypsy across her face. This, of course, doesn't stop Gypsy from having a go at Kitty's tail whenever she gets the chance. Have you ever seen a pup playing with grown cats? Cheers and happy mylotting

Glad Gypsy is doing well. Yes I've seen puppies playing with adult cats and kittens playing with adult dogs many times. Every time I introduce a new animal into the house it's not long before the older ones start playing! My cats are 18 and 4 and still like to play with the dog who's 4 too. Either that or use her as a pillow! She's a large German Shepherd and could seriously hurt a pup or kitten but she's very gentle and patient with them. My employers 4 month old Pom loves going for walks with her and spends most of the time trying to hang on to her tail. As I've felt just how sharp her teeth are I'm surprised Willow doesn't object! LOL

She is! We rescued her last year, she was a puppy farm breeding female and she's one of the sweetest natured dogs I've ever known. She's even more gentle with human 'babies'!

I dont have a puppy and never will i prefer to adopt an older dog. My dog and cat just ignore each other but when i had a baby raccoon they would play together. It was funny to see this tiny raccoon and my large german shepard dog playing tag. They would touch each other and run while the other chased it was so funny.

LOL too cute!! I've never seen a pup with adults cats but my one dog mothers two of my cats....RayRay bathes Bobby and plays with both Bobby and Ostara which is just too funny to watch....All of our animals are confused come to think of it because one of my older cats, Maggie, bathes my son's head..my other older cat Beast thinks he's half human half dog...

I've not seen a puppy playing with cats, but my cats often play with the dogs. One of the dogs loves it and joins in, but the other just grimaces and bears it. He knows he's not allowed to retaliate, but you can see by the set of his ears that he's hating every moment of it and would like nothing better than to show the pesky cats who else has teeth!

Hey positiveminded! Sure have! I think Gyspy thinks that maybe she (?or he?) is a cat too! Since Gypsy doesn't have anyone else to play with and the cat's are there they are her playmates! I've seen many dog's and cat's play together! This is not at all abnormal! People tend to think that they are automatic moral enemys but this is not necessarily true! Sometimes they can actually be the best of friends! So as long as they are happy playing together then is't all good and let the fun continue! Maybe Puttu will come around too!

Gypsy is a female...:) She has far too many creatures to play with. Her favorite playmate is my bigger dog Tina. Of course, she loves playing with the cats too. And she tries playing with us too. I guess she believes we are all dogs... LOL!! Cheers and thanks for the response

yes, i have been seen like this. A cat playing around with dog. This maybe because both of them not behave to threat each other. As long as both can share the place, food, every animal can live freely together.
