in my family, we already give up our landline phone because all of us has a celphone. Besides, when we are at work, nobody will use it more often. So for us its more economical. Than having both of them with the same usage.

Yes! it is better to have one. it can help you save money and it is the fast one. but, what if all networks or a loss of signal? what would you do?

well so far signal is good, besides if emergency really happened then we know each others office phones. or better yet, we will see each other in person if it is really that important. our work place is not that far from each other though.

I think cell phone is more reliable than land phone.Land phone is using wired technology and cell phone is using wireless technology. If the technology is wired, there is always a chance of damage in cables. In wireless there is no such problems.

I remember growing up with "wired" phone...it might have gone down (for a couple hours at a time at most) two or three times in 25 years! that is VERY reliable, as my cell towers have gone down numerous times in just the past year (if only for a few minutes). I don't see how you can say a cell is more 'reliable'...maybe you never had a landline? if you did, can you recall even a single time it failed you? I was hard pressed to recall a time when we were phoneless...there was a huge ice storm many years back, and if there had been cell towers, they would have failed too I'm sure! but I don't have landline any more, because the cell is reliable enough for me, just not AS reliable as a landline...you dig? =)

I think landlines because they don't lose reception while you are talking.

landline *no battery to run down *no tower to go down *no virus to catch *not as easy to lose or misplace landline wins...hands down! p.s. I don't have a land line any more, and haven't in many years

yup, you're right. especially on emergency purposes. loss of battery is really a big problem.

well i don't what you mean by reliable.. cell phones can get you hooked up anywhere at anytime. but landlines doesn't have to worry about backup time and recharging.. personally, our landline has broken down more often than my mobile phone..
