Why does a person always run behind money?

when i started to earn money i always wondered why people run so much behind money.. when i got my first earning WITHOUT being a professional i realized how tough it is to earn BOOTY at the cost of your rest and peace of mind.. roaming everywhere to get some contracts.. luring people and lying to them for what you do not possess.. deceiving your collages for producing better income.. and the list goes on... why has man made it so necessary to live ONLY FOR MONEY at the cost of his/her relationships and the GIFT OF SATISFACTION that the nature has provided us?? why money??
