New vs. Old "Grinch Who Stole Christmas"

I'm with you. Not only was the grinch kinda creepy in live version, but the whole movie was way overdone. The old cartoon version was simple and a sweet story, though I always hated the part where the dog had to carry the sleigh up the hill. There are a couple other movies like this where they took a short story that was just right and tried to make it into a feature length film and lost the story in the process. The Polar Express for one.

I've never even seen the Jim Carrey version and don't want to. The original cartoon is it for me!

i like the old one way better. although jim carry is a great actor, the cartoon version is the first and sometimes, the first one of any movie is, well, just better.

This is a pretty good discussion and I am sure there are a lot of people out there who like the movie The Grinch Who Stole Christmas because it is a really good movie,and I am sure there are people who like the old version of it for one reason or another either,and then I am sure there are people who prefer the new version with Jim Carey in it because they either like him as an actor,or they think he did a better job in the movie,or they just think that new versions of movies are always better than the older ones,and I can understand why someone would choose either the older version or the newer version as their favorite,because people have different tastes when it comes to movies,and what they find as the most entertaining,and that is cool that you think that the old version is much better than Jim Carey's new version,I have always liked watching the movie The Grinch Who Stole Christmas because it is a good Christmas movie especially since at the end the Grinch shows that he has a heart,when he always acts like he does not,and I am not sure which version I would choose as the best,because I have not seen the version with Jim Carey in it,but I have always been a fan of Jim Carey and his movies so I am sure it is a pretty good movie,because I have seen very few movies starring Jim Carey that were not good,because he is the master of different roles and he can pull off almost anything in my opinion,but I think I like the older version because the older version I know of is the cartoon version,and I have always liked cartoons,and I always get a source of enjoyment from watching a good cartoon,especially ones about holidays because they are always meaningful.
