I've always been into some photography and have been told I have a good eye for framing. I also know a bit of Photoshop.
So I'm thinking about joining one/some of those Stock Photography sites to make a little more money on the side. However, I don't have an AMAZING camera. I have a good digital camera, but it's not professional quality.
Is it worth it? Have you had good/bad experiences? How much have you made?
Some of the sites have a little portfolio/evaluation thing. Are there better things to show them in your photos than others?

You can try IStockPhoto and ShutterStock. Both sites are trusted and have high daily views. You can sell a picture of a simple ice cube and earn $100 from that single picture. If you sell lots of stock photos, the earnings add up to something monstrous!!

It's not the camera that takes the picture. It's the person behind it. Remember that and you'll be fine. Good luck with it!

I tried this and some sites are much fussier than others. The camera is not as important as the quality of the picture, according to all of the sites i have been on the most popular pics are of professional looking people in business meetings (but then you need a model release) and pictures of non marked pills (ask me why, I dont know)

I've actually had pretty good luck with this. I use shutterstock. I also use a sit that pays you for each view that your photo gets. There is a banner on the bottom of my website if you are interested. I made the $20 payout very quickly.
