Pen drive - I use pendrive

When I had bought my pc, I had also bought a CD writer so that I could carry data from one pc to another. Writing files to a Blank cd is very annoying, becuase sometimes the cd gets damage and cannot be written. Sometimes the writing software does not work properly. So out of sheer anger I have stopped writing data in a CD. Now I use pen drive for this purpose. What do you use?

I also use CD wrirer. It's useful for writing files to a blank CD.I can also copy favorite songs from a CD to other blanck CD.For preserving a file I think it's better to use pen drive.I'm also thinking to buy a pen drive for this purpose. Thank you.

I personally prefer to use a pendrive for keeping my data. It is more portable and more compatible to most PC. Furthermore, pendrive (depending on models) have faster read and write speed and greater capacity. When you need to copy data, it is as easy with the Plug N Play feature. Inaddition, CD or DVD surface are prone to scratches and there is a likelihood that you may not be able to read the disc again. There is one problem with pendrive is that the smaller the thumbdrive is, the greater the chance that you might misplace it or left it on the computer where you last attached it to...

Believe it or not, I'm still using SD Card, 128MB one at that... I do have a lot of files stored on my computer & sometimes I dump them on to a 1.4 Gig small dvd disk... Everyday stuff for work, 128MB is plenty for me... Most of the bigger files I keep them online storage anyway so that I can access them on my work computer as well...

i think i better use pendrive... nowadays, the pendrive storage capacity surpasses the CD storage capacity and even the blu-ray capacity also so i'm thinking that pendrive is here to stay forever... one really good advantage of using pendrive is that it's so mobile... that means you can take it anywhere and it's so small to keep in your pocket yet have a big storage capacity....

i think it depends on a situation. for ebook sellers in ebay, a cd writer still can be use to burn cds. but for people who are always on the go, pendrive or flashdrive (whatever you call it) is the ultimate tool..

My Dear Friend I prefer to use CD because pendrive can be infected with virus but a CD can never be infected with virus because CD is read only device wehere as pendrive is a read/write device . So I think CD is better and so I use CD . Happy Mylotting ! Take Care ! Ganesh !

Well,, use pendrive too...But most likely I'll use re-writable DVD to take movies and all from my friends computer. Pen drive is very convinient for some important data. And i didn't even think of CDs when I want to take some data or film, coz its capacity is too low compared to DVD and pen drive..

I think it a good to you but you must remember some data you will not use and just for shaving (archive). So, if all the data you put into your Pen drive, so you must have a lot of them. So, i think you should have also CD Writer for the data that you just want to archiving like movie, music and dll.

Of course pen drive is more convenient plus it have a bigger capacity than CD writer. Nowadays, pen drive price already cheaper and affordable. I just used pendrive since 4~5 years ago only. But I have found one thing, when you wish to unplug your drive, please pull it paralelly and carefully. Because failing to do so will cause the soldering on it's circuit board to loose. Thus making your pen drive unusable.

I use pendrive too. It is portable and can be reused with much use. But when I have to carry data that is of much importance(like some projects etc) then I trust CDs as pendrives catch virus easily.

I use a usb drive, which I guess is the same as a pendrive. It is easy and I can always erase/ reuse it. Plus, it is so much faster than burning to a CD.

I use a pendrive nowadays.Previously i used to use rewritable cds to transfer data.It takes a lot of time to write data on cds.It is quick to write data on pen drives.pen drives have larger storage than cds.We can write whole movies and big games on a pendrive than cd.

I use both. But then I feel CD is better because my pen drive is prone to virus attack easily and I hate formatting it everytime So I prefer CD to pen drive. Also I got more used to it..

Use both. Pendrive for storing data that need to be transferred between multiple PC or used frequently while CD/DVD to store data like backup file and series/movies for the long run. Most prob will not need anymore CD's once i get my 1TB HDD :)

well in my opinion pen drive is most convenient way of transferring data bcoz it is very easy to handle and fast to access and also very safe just plug and play into a usb port.they are dust-free and shock free so u dont need to worry about cleaning them once in a while, also u are free from the fear of shock as they are schock-free.
