Ever bought an anime boxset? If so, which series?

I have bought an Onegai Sensei/Please Teacher,Eden's Bowy boxset, and Sukisho before. The Onegai Sensei one was on sale when the Suncoast at the Glendale Galleria mall was still there, for around 40 something dollars, and the Eden's Bowy one for around the same price. I bought my Sukisho boxset at a Sam Goodies for I don't know how much now, and is sitting in my room, unwatched for quite awhile. I have no regrets though because I loved the series, even though I wouldn't watch it in the living room because of its BL content, and my parents tend to be at home whenever I get the time to watch anything on TV. xD What about you? Have you ever bought a boxset?

I have so many anime boxsets now it just seemed cheaper to buy them in bulk that buying each disc individually. Do really like sukisho but my dad bought that one for me so I have no idea how much it cost. Anyway maybe a list would be best, the big 0 seasons one and 2, neon genesis evangelion platinum boxset, paranoia agent, magical shopping arcade abenobashi, full metal panic fumoffu, desert punk,DBZ seasons one and two, please teacher, gundam wing, escaflowne, tenchi muyo OVA, tenchi universe, tenchi in Tokyo, YUyu hakusho, outlaw star, elfen lied, heat guy J, studio Ghibli, blackjack, ghost in the shell first two gigs, jubei chan seasons one and two, ranma1/2 tv and golden boy.

Wow. . .that's a lot. Yes I really do like Sukisho. xD WHoa your dad is cool lmao. My parents would probably question me about it before they bought it. . .haha. Well my mom not so much, but my dad. . .lol. I'm glad Sukisho isn't a "hardcore" BL anime, or else I might not have been able to buy it when I got into yaoi but. . .at the same time, I do kind of want to see a more hardcore version of it. . .like the game I believe. At least I think its based on a BL game.

lol really? I've visited my home country a couple of times after moving to the states with my family (I'm Filipino too) and I saw some individual discs. Though they were bootlegged haha (it was near the SM Mall I believe). Have you been to the Mall of Asia there? I believe I've seen some anime stuff there before lol.

What have you heard of before? The second statement seems to contradict the first one. And yes, they tend to be a bit pricey when they are not on sale.

I love buying anime boxsets, they're ususally cheaper than individual volumes and some of them come with some really cool extras. My first boxset was El Hazard. I bought if from Suncoast for $120 many years ago (this was when anime wasn't as popular or widespread. It's one of those flip cases but the artwork on it is very beautiful. The series also comes in this very nice box sleeve. Another cool boxset I own is the Irresponsible Captain Tylor Ultra Edition boxset. It's small but everything is packaged up in this small box. It comes with the soundtrack, a novella, a 64 page booklet and two discs containing a lot of extra material. I own a few of those economy boxsets. They are Arc the Lad, Blue Seed, and Martian Successor Nadesico. Those are the singular DVD box with multiple cases attached to them. I also have the sets that consist of the dvds in individual cases and they are placed in a box that has some cover art. For those kind, I have Devil Hunter Yohko, Infinite Ryvius, Outlaw Star, Yu Yu Hakusho, G Gundam and Vampire Princess Miyu (this one came with a soundtrack and charm too). I also own the Gilgamesh thinpak. I also don't regret buying them because they look nice on my shelf and the extras add to my collection.

Haha that's quite a collection you have there. If I had a ton of extra money, I'd buy boxsets of all my favorite anime, just to support the companies that licensed them here. (:

I know what you mean. But that's just my boxset collection. I still have a bunch of other series and most of them are still uncomplete. I still haven't gotten around to buying the rest of them.
