What is your opinion on your children's pocket money?

hmm in my opinion children should be given pocket money..they mat steal things or money from houses or dads pocket for their pocket money...but pocket money should be limited and they should be asked to write a note for what they used pocket money,,,parents must aware about their children..and should know fr what purpos ethey are utilizing pocket money and pocket money should not be given directly but assinging some work and give some money for that work..so that they will know value of money,,how hard it is to earn money..

I don't give my children money just to have. When they want money from me there is usually a purpose for it. They are either using it for something at school or to eat. Between my three kids and them needing money for something at school at least one or two times a week I don't have any left over to just give them.

My son is still too little to know how important the money is. So I keep his pocket money for him. When he grows up, I think he will prefer to keep it by himself:) If so, I will teach him to use it in a good way. At least he shall save some. I love China

Yeah very true earlier women were house wives so they took care of their children very well but nowadays both the mother and father are working and so they give pocket money for their children and pamper them to compensate theri loss or absence during their office hours this makes the child indulge in unethical means and their basic morale is drained. So,parents shud give only the required amount and see to that they use it for good genuine reasons. They shud secretly keep track of things.It's quite a delicate task and shud be handled carefully!! I think when you give them pocket money, you should also warn them to use the money properly. Children are smart, if they want to smoke, even when they have no pocket money, you may lie to you and get money from you. So once the bad habit has taken shape, it is hard to change.

I think that pocket money on children nowdays is very common, but parents shouldn't give them at an early age, it has a good and a bad way, because if we think positive children will grow with a sense of responsability, but if we think negative, they will grow being interested just in easy money ... specially because there are some cases where both parents work, and the only way for them to express their love or importance to their children is giving them money.
