how many kinds of fish are there?

There are new species of fish being discovered all of the time so the number is not something that is constant. It keeps growing and also some ichthyologist prefer to "lump" species of fish into one species or likewise they will take a group of fish that were once thought of as one species and putting them into two or more species. I am hoping that we do not kill off any more species of not only fish but all animals and plants as we have been doing .

There are only three kinds of fishes they are Sea fish, Lake Fish and River Fish.
