how to stop search indexing in vista?

vista search index keep on indexing items continously.. coz of this my CPU usage becomes 100% always.. system becomes a bit slower.. how to stop this?

It appears you can't turn it off, but if you have SP1 installed you can pause it for 15 minutes (wow).
