Anything Special on your 30th Birthday?

Just wondering how was your 30th birthday? Did you do something special because it's the beginning of another decade for yourself? Or it was just another normal day? For those who are not yet 30, do you plan to celebrate a bit different when you come to 30?

I think the "decade" birthdays should definitely be celebrated in a special way. I think I spent my 30th birthday with friends and family (it was quite awhile ago). I usually try to set a goal every time I pass a decade. For my 30th, it was graduating from graduate school 2 years later, for my 40th, it was acting in a play for the first time, and for my 50th, it was training for and completing a sprint triathlon.

I think that's very good to have goal for each decade! I am setting my goal to a yearly one and I will have something special going on for next year!

My 30th birthday was just like another normal day. As at that time my child was very little and we were busy with him. I don't think I am important any more:) I love China

We really couldn't afford to do much special to celebrate my 30th birthday. He worked, I worked, we came home tired and went to bed. I'm sure he made a special card and had some small present, but we were both just totally focused on survival at that stage of our lives, it was just another day. 30-somethings are sort of like the pickle in the middle, aren't they. Big enough to have too many responsibilities, but too big to have much fun.

Hi there wondericequeen! I celebrated my 30th birthday last month. I celebrated it with my family through a simple dinner. My boyfriend also treated me to a weekend getaway after my birthday. It was really a nice way to celebrate my birthday because we went swimming and snorkeling.

each and every year I do something special for my birthday. I see every birthday as a celebration of another year on this world. I just had a nice quiet dinner out with my family, which was lovely as I don't go out very often. I did make a birthday resolution but never stuck to it. There was a part of me that thought gee I am 30 and what I have I done with my life? But it was easy enough to block out! I think when you are in your teens 30 seems so far away and you tend to think oh when I get to 30 I will.... (whatever your dreams are) and then when 30 comes and you haven't done those things or got where you thought you would have it can be a little disheartening. Mind you 30 is still very young and at the end of the day you still have the rest of your life ahead of you.

On my 30th birthday I felt like the world was ending. I just wanted to stay in bed all day and pretend it never happened. My hubby loved it, he turned 30 the other day and he really embraced it. I am OK now, well I have no choice really ah? lol. I guess that everyone looks at it differently and I saw it as a negative thing but really it was not just a new chapter of my life.

I haven't celebrated my birthday in years and my 30th birthday was no different. So it is just another day to me. Do you plan to do anything special for your 30th wondericequeen?

hi, wondericequeen i will be 30 in a few months and i really want to celebrate. nothing extravagant. i just want to have a little gathering with my family and very few close friends. i want to celebrate it because, aside from starting another decade for myself, it's my first birthday as a married woman another occasion to have my family and my in-laws together. have a nice day!

My 3oth birthday is in 3 days and I am devistated, scared and discusted. I feel as though this is the end of my youth and everything is resonsibility and judgement from now on. There are no excuses at all... I really never thought this day would come and counted it down mentally since i turned 24. I have been crying for three days and really am not welcoming 30 at all.
