Why do some pages load faster than others?

First, let me tell you that I am on dial up. So, if you are using broadband, my Internet experiences will not match yours.
I have observed that certain websites load slower than others. Is this because the traffic to these websites is more? Is it because of the type of Internet connection I am using? Or is there any other reason for this?
Cheers and happy mylotting

it can be down to a number of things- usually depends on the content of the site. If their are a lot of pictures and fancy graphics, etc that will take longer to load than a site that is simply just text.
Hope that helps you a bit.

They say it has so much to do with other people that are logging on the Internet at this time. And if they are specifically logging on the same page that you are trying to view or access. And it has a lot to do with your Internet Connection as well. Dial up does take a little longer to load because of its Internet Connection speed. The reasons that you have stated above is just the reason why the pages are taking forever to access.

yes the bigger sites might take longer because their are many people trying to access the site at the same time, perhaps the site is also experiences technical difficulty as well.

It all depends really.
Even those of us with DSL and other high speed connections have slow loading pages. It varies depending on the speed of your computer and also with the pages themselves. Some pages have so many graphics and flash and java runtime on them that they run slow for me with DSL. Some normally run slow like myLot. So it depends on many things really as to why.

ya u are right some pages opens fast and some wont...this is because if your page contains lots of images then it will take lots of time to load and if your page doesnot contains the images or videos and it just contains one data then it will load faster than the image contained pages......
