If you had a choice of going to Australia, New Zealand or South Africa which would you choose. You could spend one week, two weeks, one month, three months or six months there. So which duration which you decide on? Why?

It would have to be South Africa because I still have family and a few friends there that I would like to see. But then again, I saw the most important family members just a few months ago when they came to visit here in the UK, so perhaps my choice should be Australia. I also have family there and my cousin has recently undergone cancer treatment and at the moment is all clear, but who knows... It would be good to see him, his wife and their 2 young kids - it has been quite a few years since I last saw him. A very hard decision it would be for me!!! Violetdreams

Hello my friend Violet Dreams. Therefore it would be lovely if you went to South Africa and then on to Australia. I am sorry to hear about your cousin and I hope the cancer stays in remission. I am sure that you would enjoy seeing the unique wildlife. I love kangaroos and have seen many of them. I am so looking forward to going to Cape Town. Please could you ask any of your friends in South Africa if soya infant formula is for sale there? Maxine

Hi Max What a good idea, I think it would have to be both. Yep, we are hopeful that Chris will stay well for quite a while. Apparently he has a good chance as he is only 38 and apparently age gives him a head start ... but then anything can happen as we all know. For now he is very positive and has a great attitude about all this. I am speaking to a friend in Cape Town on Saturday (hopefully) and will try to remember to ask her - promise. I was supposed to be talking to her tonight, but she was too tired to chat for long ...

I think I would spend six months in South Africa. I don't really have a specific reason but among the three countries, that's what I'm leaning towards. Ecotourism in South Africa sounds good to me.

Hi my friend Saint Anne. South Africa sounds like a lovely country. In January I am taking my toddler son to Cape Town for two weeks. In six months there you would have some wonderful experiences I am sure. Ecotourism is excellent.

I would opt for a trip to New Zealand. It has always seemed rather appealing to me. I think I would go for 3 weeks, though it is not listed amongst your options. That will give me enough time to take in the sceneries, landmarks, and get to know the people and their customs a bit.... yet get me back home soon enough to take care of the needs here.

I have friends who have been to New Zealand and they brought back pictures that look amazing - so I would have to pick New Zealand.

When I went to the North Island I was amazed by the scenery. I spent my first three weeks in Northland. I remember walking up a mountain and seeing a glorious view then going to Smuggler's Cove a perfect little beach with walking access only. Then I went to the South Island and the scenery was even more stunning.

It would have to be New Zealand. From what I've seen it's a beautiful country and though it's as big as the UK, and much the same sort of climate, it only has a fraction of the population so it'd be just like being at home without all the crowds! It's such a long way to travel that it'd have to be a two or three month stay to see the most of the country and make the long and tiring flight worthwhile. So, NewZealand gets my vote.

New Zealand for me, if I actually had a choice. I was already in South Africa, and although I would like to visit Australia I have this dream about visiting New Zealand. If I had to worry about nothing else there. If I had enough money for a long stay and had no commitments back home then I would stay six months, because I really wanted to enjoy every single thing.

Hello maximax. I think that I will choose to travel to Australia if I could only choose one because Australia is a nice and beautiful country with so many things to see and I love to see the beautiful and attractive Sydney Opera in person. Of course, the other two countries are also very attractive to me. Enjoy your journey, my dear friend.
