For a Christening, I have always been led to believe that it is traditional to give a present of silver. Sometimes this is a locket/chain, a jewellery box or a simple money box.

Hi! The last time I attended one, I gave a baby carrier. A friend of mine gave a gift card for a baby store. Another friend of mine gave jewelry. The latter is traditional, so I guess you really have to decide on this one. All the above gifts were greatly appreciated. Happy myLotting!

The best gifts I noticed are those that he baby can use everyday. Like me, I really appreciated clothes for the house like jogging pants, shirts, pajamas, bottle, bottle brushes (you know things that the parents don't have to buy for a period of time. Don't give much toys because a lot will give her that. I remember my officemates gave me a big bottles of baby wash which I got to use for about 3 months and a half everyday! It really save me money. Goodluck and I hope you buy the perfect gift.

First of all, I think its tacky for anyone to "insist" upon a gift. But I digress. An appropriate gift for a Christening or baptism is a children's Bible, a small piece of baby jewelry or a savings bond. A religious wall hanging (a cross or crucifix for baby's room) is also appropriate.
